Rev. Lisa Ward is currently serving the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Harford County in Churchville, Maryland. She came to the ministry after having worked free-lance in theatre and film and received her Masters in Divinity from Union Theological Seminary in New York City. Ordained in 1992, Rev. Ward has served churches in New York City, Queens and White Plains, New York.
While at White Plains, Rev. Ward co-founded a periodical, Inward Springs, with editor-in-chief Nancy King Bernstein. Inward Springs was a quarterly periodical designed to support liberal religious adults in the spiritual education of the children in their lives.
Lisa is an ad hoc instructor at the Harford Community College and serves on Harford County's Domestic Violence Prevention Committee. Lisa is a Board Member of the Unitarian Universalist Legislative Ministry of Maryland, focusing primarily on advocacy for LGBT civil rights. In this vein, Lisa is also a member of the Pride In Faith Steering Committee for Equality Maryland—as a member of the founding committee of Maryland Clergy for the Freedom to Marry.
Among Rev. Ward's honors is her receipt of the first JPD Journey Toward Wholeness Sermon Award, entitled "Do You Dream In Color?"
Lisa lives in Havre de Grace, Maryland with her husband, Nick, and children Sarah and Michael.
